*Update: Quick Trade has rebranded to Coinsquare
Welcome to this Coinsquare review (formerly Quick Trade), where we collected 60 variables such as fees, spreads, coins offered, security and much more. We also tested over 15 Canadian cryptocurrency exchanges to find the best places to buy crypto.
Read on to learn everything you need to know about Coinsquare as well as the best places to trade crypto in Canada.
Our Review
Coinsquare offers beginner and advanced trading, 40 coins and a total BTC purchase fee of 1.23% (5th place) when tested. However, due to a data breach and market manipulation in 2020, their reputation is questionable. We don't recommend using this platform.
Overall, we recommend other platforms with a clean history. There are cheaper places with more features available anyway. Skip to the alternatives section for our top recommendations.
Use Quick Trade or Coinsquare with caution. Although it’s probably safe today, there have been serious incidents with the OSC in 2020 (see security section).

FAQ
Quick Trade offers commission-free trades plus free deposit and withdrawals so you might wonder how do they make money?
Quick Trade makes money on the spread which is the difference in the buy and sell prices at any given time. For example, in our test you could buy 1 Bitcoin for $56,460 or sell 1 Bitcoin for $55,013. This is a spread of $1,447 or 2.63%.
This is common in the industry but spreads vary widely on each platform. Quick Trade ranked 13th overall and Binance was first overall with a 0.00% spread for Bitcoin.
