  • We compared Margex against dozens of exchanges. Bottom line, you should check out our best non KYC exchanges instead.

What Is Margex?

Margex is a centralized crypto exchange for derivatives trading and copy trading. They're headquartered in Seychelles but have optional KYC, so anyone worldwide can register for an account.

The platform, which was founded in 2020, features a simple UX, over 20 USDT and COIN-M perpetual contracts, up to 100x leverage and more.

Where Is Margex Available?

According to their Terms and Conditions, prohibited regions include: β€œThe United States of America, the Republic of Seychelles, Bermuda, Cuba, Crimea, Sevastopol, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, and Afghanistan.”

The official website tells you they serve 153 countries. However, no KYC and no VPNs are required which means technically, anyone can join the platform - including β€œprohibited” regions like the US. However, do that at your own risk.

Key Features & Benefits

Here are the main benefits of Margex:

  • Crypto Futures: Margex lets you trade about 20 perpetual contracts with as little as 5x leverage and up to 100x leverage. They get billions in trading volume and have a 0.019% maker fee and 0.06% taker fee.
  • Coin-M Collateral: Margex lets you post margin using BTC, ETH, USDT, and many other coins as collateral - something most exchanges don’t offer. If you don’t want to sell your crypto for USDT, this could be a good reason to try Margex.
  • User Interface: Margex has one of the easiest UXs for derivatives trading. You can also try their Live Demo account to test the platform without risking real money.
  • Copy Trading: Copy successful traders on autopilot with one click. Fairdesk is another non KYC platform you can compare this to.
  • Other Features: Margex offers a fiat gateway, 24/7 support via live chat, and crypto staking.

Margex Fees

Margex has low maker fees at only 0.019% however, the taker fees and crypto withdrawal fees are higher than many of the CEXs we compared.

  • Trading Fees: 0.019% Maker and 0.06% Taker
  • Funding Rates: Due every 8 hours
  • Crypto Withdrawals: Varies

Is Margex Safe?

Margex is based in Seychelles, which a popular region for crypto exchanges. With the info available, Margex is considered secure. However, we wouldn’t recommend holding all your funds on any centralized exchange.

Our main concern is that Margex doesn’t have a Proof of Reserves. However, they have been operating since 2020 with a clean reputation. There have been no reports of hacks, data leaks, or loss of user funds.

Their security page claims 100% of funds are held in cold storage and the customer reviews look positive. They have over 500,000 customers and billions worth of trading volume.

Is Margex Worth It?

Bottom Line: Margex is a decent platform but we found better options available listed in our best non KYC exchanges post.

Margex has limited assets (~20 coins), no spot trading, and slow cryptocurrency withdrawals (Up to 24+ hours). While the UX is beginner-friendly, you might as well use the best platforms that are available.
