Our Review

Cointree offers 280+ coins, free AUD deposit and withdrawals and beginner and advanced trading. The downside is it had a 2.36% total fee to buy Bitcoin (14th place) making it one of the most expensive platforms we tested. The other downside is no mobile app.

The bottom line is Cointree is expensive relative to other platforms which is the main reason we gave it a low score. After testing 15+ crypto exchanges, there are many better alternatives for Australians which we cover below.

Where It Shines:

  • 280+ Coins: Variety of coins and you can use market buy, quoted price, auto buy or recurring buy
  • Reputation: One of the longest operating crypto exchanges. Founded in 2013 which is very old in the crypto world
  • Portfolios: Copy the moves of smart traders by investing in top performing portfolios

Where It Falls Short:

  • User Interface: Simple to navigate but no mobile app is available and the overall design can use a lift
  • Very Expensive: Cointree has a 0.90% trading fee and a 2.28% spread when tested. The total fee to buy Bitcoin was 2.36% (14th place) and the total fee to sell was 1.70% (11th place).
